For us, August is all about operating within a state of bliss. Our Loves Local this month is all about sharing our summer adventures with friends and loved ones over libations and laughs.

Our 1st Street neighbour Proof also happens to be one of our favourite cocktail joints. It's an old-fashioned speakeasy with classic cocktails, thoughtful service, and small plates that send your senses into overdrive. Our team's favourite cocktail? The brightest day! And best of all? They're always changing and adapting their menu, so you'll never get bored.
The bar is first come, first-serve, so cut out of work early and grab a table - you deserve it!

Vine Arts
If you're feeling like more of a homebody, or finished with after work cocktails and fixing to take the party home, venture next door from Proof to Vine Arts (or head to their 17 ave location) for a fine selection of wine, spirits, liquor and beer. Their knowledgeable and experienced staff are able to elevate your casual cocktails at home from a frat party vibe to an elegant affair.

Travel the World without leaving our city
Calgary summers are ripe with experience, and if you've used your vacation time but want a little international sensation, there are events throughout the next month to keep you satisfied!
First up is both Reggaefest and Expo Latino on the weekend of August 18 and 19. At Reggaefest, you'll explore Caribbean culture, music, dance, and food in Shaw Millenium Park. While at Expo Latino, you'll see the diversity of Latino Cultures represented across South and Central America, with amazing food, music, dance and art as well! Finally, Fiesta Filipino occurs over September long weekend in Olympic Plaza, and it's a time for fellowship, food and a variety of entertainment and summer activities.

Global Fest
Continuing on our international theme, Global Fest features multi-cultural food districts and internationally acclaimed fireworks performances. If you're not already following us on Instagram be sure to, as we'll be giving away free tickets during the August 15-26 celebration at Elliston Park.
Calgary Pride
We are proud of our staff and guests who represent various identities within the LGBTQ spectrum, and can't wait to celebrate and show our love at this year's Calgary Pride festivities. There's so much going on through August 25 and September 4, but the highlight is always the parade on September 3, and the following celebration, which takes place at Prince's Island Park this year. We'll be there volunteering, so come say hi!
