We're ready for a vacation (and you probably deserve one too!)

It feels like we just barely made it out of winter, and being snowed up for so long has us ready to show up at the airport, bags packed, and hop on the first flight to an equator-area destination ASAP. Fortunately for us, we just opened our own little beach oasis (Butter Bankers Hall) where we can stare at beach-inspired art from NewZones Gallery. Thus, this month's Butter Loves Local is all about embracing (and creating) the STAYCATION - below, you'll find our tips, tricks, and ideas for saying 'goodbye' to the winter blues and 'hello' to the storm of events that seem to come up as the snow melts and the days get longer!

PLANT

First things first - studies show that being around plants boosts your memory retention and concentration, so part one of our staycation is ensuring we get some beautiful greenery at home! Located in Inglewood, Plant is the perfect boutique shop to learn about gardening, indoor plants, and more. The space is beautiful, the staff so well-informed (we've killed our share of plants at home - but they're so helpful!), and the selection and workshops are impeccable. We'd be remiss if we didn't admit that we've gone there just to surround ourselves with all of the green beauties in the shop and stuck around for one or two (or three) hours.

BRONZE BAXX

Now that you're mood's a little elevated from your new green friend(s), it's time for you to soak up some sunshine! We prefer a spray tan to add some colour to our complexions. Our friends at Bronze Baxx use an oil, alcohol, and fragrance free solution, administered by a professional air brush artist. They have offered each of our guests a special offer of $39 for their spring spray tan, plus a free mini lotion to help extend its staying power* (savings of  $25!). They have four locations across the city and one in Airdrie. To book, call 403-244-2299 or visit their website.
