Calgary Immigrant Woman's Association's 35th Annual Gala
For 35 years, the Calgary Immigrant Women's Association (or CIWA) has been providing unparalleled and culturally diverse programming and services for newcomers to our city, responding to the varying needs of its patrons. Since it's inception, they've served over 80,000 immigrant and refugee women.
Their services range from employment training and skills, language training, childcare, family support, and settlement and integration support. As a nonprofit organization, the need for funding is always important, so we ask our interested guests to buy tickets to their 35th Anniversary Gala or consider supporting the organization in other ways.
The Gala takes place at Civic on Third at 5:30 pm, and features cocktails, dinner, and a keynote address from Avenue Magazine Top 40 Under 40 Alumni Geeta Sankappanavar, so get your tickets soon!

Calgary's Civic Election on October 16
We know some consider it uncouth to talk politics, but sometimes it's a must! Regardless of your beliefs, it's imperative that you vote in our city's upcoming election! The official day to vote is October 16, but advance voting runs October 4 - 11 (excluding Oct. 9).
