We’ve compiled a list of our favourite small businesses in our favourite shopping districts.

o   Yoga Santosha: Our favourite place to catch a little zen, in addition to yoga classes and passes, they have an assortment of wellness products in the studio for purchase. @yogasantosha

o   Fieldstudy Shop: This newly opened general store has handcrafted and unique goods of all sorts, with a huge focus on craftsmanship. @fieldstudyshop

o   Mission Tattoo: If you’ve got a tattoo lover in your life, Mission’s signature black line work could be a perfect addition to their collection. @missiontattooparlour

o   Phil & Sebastien: We offer their coffee in all of their salons, but the actual shop has everything that coffee fanatic on your list could want. @philandseb

o   Purr: Ok, so Purr actually has locations in Kensington, Inglewood, and on 17th Ave, but wherever you go, you’ll find beautiful clothing and accessories unlike anywhere else in the city.  @purrclothing

o   Brass Monocle: A past loves local pick, Brass Monocle has gorgeous glasses and sunglasses. @thebrassmonocle

o   Studio Revolution: Again for any fitness lover on your list – gift them a new surf style workout routine! Plus, the recipient can dream about perfect beach blonde waves while they get their fitness on.  @yycstudiorevolution

o   Leo Boutique: A boutique with all our favourite fashion staples and world class brands. @leoboutique

o   Steeling Home: Their tagline says it all: “A collection of treasures and surprises” for your home. @steelinghome

o   Barre Body Studio: Everyone wants to get back to their work out in the new year, so why not gift the fitness lover in your life with a pass to Barre. @barrebodystudio

o   Plant: Escape the cold in this jungle-like shop – plants are one of our favourite gifts to give, and their unique array of terrariums, artwork, vintage, and garden supplies is perfect for your friend with the green-thumb. @plantshopyyc

o   Adorn Boutique: For the uber-feminine, girly girl in your life, there’s a mix of classic and statement pieces from Australian, North American, and European designers. @adorncalgary

o   Moonstone Creation: Stock up on authentic Native Art and gifts, especially if you’re grabbing something for someone who doesn’t live in Calgary or Canada. It’s a unique twist with a whole lot of culture attached. @moonstonecreation

o   The Uncommons: This store is exactly as it sounds – uncommon goods curated for Calgarians, with a story behind each handmade item. You’ll definitely find something for the person who has everything here. @theuncmns

o   Hot Wax: New and used records to play while you’re entertaining for the holidays. @hotwaxrecords

o   Gummi Boutique: Quirky candy + sweets are a perfect stocking stuffer! @gummiboutique

o   Meraki Supply Co.: Hand-picked products with an emphasis on adventure. You can’t go wrong here. @merakisupplyco

o   Livingston & Cavell Extraordinary Toys: You’ll be hit with nostalgia at this vintage inspired toy store, and are sure to find something for all the kids (or the young at heart) in your life. @livingstonandcavellextraordinarytoys

o   Sweet Relief: One of our October loves local picks, Sweet Relief has some of our favourite baked goods, and you can custom order any holiday baking you need! @sweetreliefpastries

o   A Vintage Affair: Give a one-of-a-kind gift with period pieces, or unique knick-knacks from their unbeatable vintage collection. @avintageaffair

o   Understudy: Contemporary menswear for the stylish dude in your life.  @understudyshop

o   Ten Foot Henry: Bring your loved ones for an atmospheric holiday date (the hanging plants throughout the restaurant will help you forget about winter), or buy a gift card so locals can enjoy their daily coffee. @tenfoothenry

o   Peaseblossoms: Our choice florists offer the most unique, beautiful, fresh flowers and arrangements that we’ve found in the city. They’ve provided flowers for our salons for 16 years, and we’ve never been disappointed. @peaseblossomsflowers

o   Johnny’s Barber + Shop: Full disclosure – Johnny’s is part of our family. Buuuuut, they carry a ton of amazing, curated men’s grooming products like Crown Shaving Co. and Layrite that we don’t have in the salon. Plus, what man doesn’t want to try a hot shave at least once in his life? @johnnysbarberandshop

o   Sanctuary Loft: For a beautiful, curated collection of furniture, art, and trinkets unlike anything else in Calgary. All within a thousand-square foot loft with 16 feet high ceilings in Victoria Park. @sanctuaryloftyyc

o   Hedkandi Salon: Surprise! Another shameless plug for our sister salon - but they carry the fabulous Bumble and Bumble product line, as well as toning conditioners from Evo, Wet Brushes, Invisibobbles, and many other hair care essentials. @hedkandisalon

o   Five Art + Merchandise: OK it’s technically in the East Village, but it just opened up about a month ago and we’re obsessed. It’s a gallery (with affordable original art), and shop with merch and mags unique to the city. @fiveartandmerchandise
